New York City's famous Times Square has a new attraction.

The Times Square Wheel is a ferris wheel that spins 110 feet into the air, offering a unique view of "the crossroads of the world".

It's located on Broadway at 48th Street, which has been closed to vehicular traffic.

"An empty Times Square was symbolic of the pause and the pandemic," said Tom Harris, president of the Times Square Alliance.

"A ferris wheel in Times Square is symbolic of our resolve and our recovery."

Ticket prices are $15 for children and $20 for adults.

"Let them come," said Vito Bruno, head of AMPM Entertainment that brought the ferris wheel to Times Square.

"Let them buy a ticket to the theatre. Let them have a meal at one of our fabulous restaurants. Book a great hotel room. And get a ride on the greatest ferris wheel experience ever."

There's even an incentive for people who have been recently vaccinated. If you got a shot between August 1 and September 12, you can show proof and get a free ride. They are offering 100 free rides a day.

But you'll have to act fast to experience it.

The Times Square Wheel will only be in town until September 14.
