‘Seagull Boy’ screeches to victory
A nine-year-old boy from Derbyshire who won a European seagull impersonation contest, jokingly likens his background story to that of Spiderman.
"Spider-Man got bit by a spider and then he turned into Spider-Man, and I got bit by a seagull and now I am 'Seagull Boy'," Cooper Wallace said while wearing a seagull costume.
His interest in the seabirds and mimicking their sounds impressed both audience and judges at a seagull impersonation contest in Belgium.
Wallace may have soared to the top, but the journey for him is far from over as he plans to go back to the contest in coming years to defend his title.
Screeching sounds echoed in the room as contestants gave it their best shot before a lively audience.
"I practised with my colleagues and my friends at the cafe. They said I did very well. Then I signed up and kept practising. And now here I am. I got third place," said Joke De Keyrel, a contestant.
