Britain’s Greatest Bridges: The Humber Bridge
On the eastern fringes of the British isles, there's an extraordinary structure that is somewhat forgotten. It's a record-breaking structure that changed engineering forever.
This is the Humber Bridge. It's length from end to end is more than 2km, and between the two gigantic towers stretches on of the greatest engineering feats in history.
The suspended central span is 1410m long and when it opened in 1981 it was the biggest suspension bridge on the planet.
